Description

Lilium davidii, David's Lily, is endemic to Western and Central China and was first collected by Pére Armand David. It grows on forest slopes to an elevation of 3200m in a wide distribution that includes Gansu, Guizhou, Henan, Western Hubei, Southern Shaanxi, Shanxi, Sichuan and Yunnan. It reaches to 1.5m tall with intense tangerine-coloured nodding flowers liberally speckled with dark maroon spots. The stem is usually tinged purple with white hairs at the axils. In China, it is often cultivated for its sweet edible bulbs.

Very easy to grow. Recommended.
