Sedum spurium, Caucasian or Two Row Stonecrop, is a tough hardy species that changes colour dramatically throughout the seasons and the differing amounts of stress it receives from the elements. Its small rosettes of scalloped foliage change from green in cool shade to pinks and reds in the heat of the summer and in full sun.
It is native to the Caucasus, Iran and Turkey and creates a luxuriant drought-tolerant ground-cover that is ideal for dry gravel gardens, xerophytic plantings, rockeries, stonewalls, terraces and roof gardens. Its dense ground-covering capabilities makes it ideal for utilising in larger landscapes particularly if planted with larger hardy succulents.
