Ophiopogon intermedius is another of the Green Mondo Grasses, with a wide distribution from the Himalayas to Taiwan. It is a particularly elegant Mondo Grass with elongated thin foliage. In this respect its leaves are strikingly longer and thinner than Ophipogon japonicus, a Mondo Grass that has become increasingly popular in the last few years, particularly among garden designers. In my view, it has a more refined look.

All the Mondo Grasses are very slow growing and require time to make an effective groundcover. From the point-of-view of growing here at the nursery, it means we can never produce enough of these plants! They are in high demand and their availability is always somewhat limited.
