Speirantha gardenii, False Lily of the Valley, is more often referred to or listed by nurseries as its synonym Speirantha convallarioides. It is a delightful and intriguing small-scale evergreen perennial from China with panicles of delicate starry white flowers in early Spring. The foliage is glossy, pale green and elliptic or elliptic-oblanceolate in shape. Speirantha gardenii has stoloniferous rhizomes which slowly spread to form a small clump.
A desirable woodland plant not often seen.
