Zephyranthes candida, Peruvian Swamp Lily or White Rain Lily is a small but stunningly beautiful Amaryllid with a pure-white six-petaled flower with yellow anthers, greenish-white filaments and a green throat. Its foliage is thin yet fleshy, glossy and linear like a rush. The flower emerges from the bulb on a thin scape that is shorter than the leaves, opening in full sun and closing again in the evening like a crocus.
Flowers late summer to autumn and in time forms a dense naturalising carpet.
Very easy to grow. Recommended.
