Phormium 'Evening Glow'
Phormium 'Evening Glow' is a remarkable hybrid New Zealand Flax with a very bright and eye-catching set of exotic colour combinations on its foliage. A range of reddish-pink tones down the centre of the leaf is - on closer examination - composed of linear striations of dark and light pinks together with shades of apricot followed by outer thicker striations showing shades of darker bronzy-brown or reddish purple and the very margins a thin gold colour. It is one of the most striking Phormium hybrids ever produced and a great credit to Margaret Jones who has been responsible for so many of the modern Phormium cultivars.
It has a low graceful weeping habit and as the arching leaves catch the sun or rustle in the wind the effect is quite stunning. A truly wonderful and very exotic architectural foliage plant that works well in a wide range of dramatic planting combinations.
Very ornamental. Highly recommended.
