Kirengeshoma palmata is a hardy herbaceous perennial from the moist wooded valleys of Eastern China, Japan and Korea. It bears exquisite yellow bell-shaped flowers in autumn at a time when most other plants have finished flowering. They have a delicate pendulous habit and together with the dark purplish stems and handsome palmate foliage combine to give Kirengeshoma palmata a refined and very elegant charm.
Kirengeshoma palmata requires a moist shady location with a deep, humus-rich acidic soil. It combine well with Tricyrtis, another Asiatic woodlander that flowers in the autumn.
