Hosta 'Big Daddy' is large Hosta with dramatic whitish-blue foliage that is distinctively cup-shaped with an upturned rim. The leaves are deeply ribbed with bold conspicuous puckering along the leaf surface. They tend to turn more greenish as the summer develops. 'Big Daddy' forms a large impressive clump with the foliage itself becoming larger as the plants gets more mature.
Hosta 'Big Daddy' was originally registered to Paul Aden but it now appears to be one of the many fraudulent claims he made and in all likelihood was one of the Hostas he stole from Florence Shaw before her death in 1975.
