Heuchera 'Chocolate Ruffles'
Heuchera 'Chocolate Ruffles' is a robust Heuchera hybrid that has deeply-cut bronzy-purplish-brown foliage with crinkly edges and bright royal purple on the undersides. As summer develops the foliage often changes to a more bronzy-olive green tone with both darker brown and the more greenish leaves often appearing on the same clump. The light airy flowers are creamy-white on purple stems and appear from June through to August.
Heuchera 'Chocolate Ruffles' has exhibited more tolerance of dry conditions than many of the dark leaf Heucheras.
Heuchera 'Chocolate Ruffles' was the first hybrid developed by Dan Heims back in 1993 and is protected by Plant Breeders Rights in the EU. It is illegal to propagate any patented plant by division or cuttings without a licence.
