Sisyrinchium striatium, Satin Flower, is an attractive easy-to-grow herbaceous perennial that is native to Argentina and Chile where is thrives in moist but well-drained soils. It has silvery-glaucous green iris-like foliage and tall erect scapes of pale-creamy yellow flowers with a lemony yellow centre. The showy flower spikes create a strong visual accent, usually flowering from May through June but often lasting much of the summer.
