Echinops ritro 'Veitch's Blue', Globe Thistle or Blue Hedgehog Thistle, is a selected cultivar of Echinops ritro with intense deep-blue flowers. It is a robust architectural perennial with handsome deeply-divided foliage. Often grown in great drifts in larger perennial-based gardens it is also very effective as an accent plant in and amongst hardy exotics where its sculptural form and metallic-blue colouring fit in effortlessly.
Once its starts flowering in mid-summer the bees go crazy for it!
Ideal cut flower.
