Dryopteris lepidopoda, Sunset Fern or Scaly Foot Fern is a stunning hardy fern from Asia which - like Dryopteris erythrosora - has startling pinkish orange new growth as the fronds emerge, slowly fading to green. A hardy, very cold-tolerant fern it is found at high elevations across Asia from the Himalayas, through China to Taiwan.
A choice, highly desirable fern that should be grown more often.
