Cyperus eragrostis, Nutgrass. is a tough sedge with long linear leaves which bears clusters of flower spikelets with umbrella-like bracts on tall triangular stems. The flowers mature from deep green to golden brown. Cyperus eragrostis likes to have its roots in water and is ideal as a water marginal or in a bog garden. It is sometimes sold by one of it many synonyms, Cyperus vegetus.
Cyperus eragrostis is not as tall as Cyperus longus but still manages to be both architectural and exotic-looking with its tufted umbrella-like bracts and knobbly flower clusters.
