Description

Scleranthus biflorus is a low-growing groundcover plant from both Australia and New Zealand that has thick, tough bright-green foliage that from a distance looks like moss. It withstands bright sun and dry conditions but will always grow best with an adequate supply of moisture. Its low ground-hugging habit gives it a very aesthetically pleasing ability to contour itself to the surface it grows over, shaping its growth into the nooks and crevices and over the rocky protruberances it encounters along the way like an ultra-slow-motion green botanical blob.

Taxonomically it is correctly described as Mniarum biflorum but there is not a horticulturalist on the entire planet that refers to it by its correct name.
