Cyclamen hederifolium 'Silver Album'
This is a silver-leaved white-flowering form of Cyclamen hederifolium. Appearing a uniform silver colour from a distance but take at closer look at the foliage and you will see layers and layers of subtle gradation of silver with random patterns and strong-contrasting, dark, almost-black venation. The leaf margins are also sometimes pure black. Some parts of the leaf may appear pure white and occasionally a totally green leaf pops up. The patterning is not as dramatic as the type species - here it is the subtlety of the pattern that impresses. The pinkish-purple stems are a colourful counterpoint. Often encountered as Cyclamen hederifolium 'Silver Alba' or Cyclamen hederifolium 'Silver Group'. Perfectly hardy, it naturalises into large drifts.
