Rodgersia podophylla 'Smaragd' is a cultivar of Rodgersia podophylla first selected by Ernst Pagels in 1974. It is a semi-dwarf cultivar with distinctive lime green foliage and tall petioles. Like the type species, it has the characteristic 'foot-shaped' heavily-veined palmate foliage that is 'webbed' at the ends of each leaf-segment and creamy-white plumes of Astilbe-like flowers. The foliage usually emerges with a bronze colouration before turning bright emerald green.

A choice cultivar. Limited quantities.
