Stephania venosa, Mountain Turtle Plant, is an unusual and rare caudiciform plant with a tough woody caudex that grows to a considerable size over time and from which grows a slender twining stem that climbs up the nearest support and clothes it in kidney-shaped foliage that superficially resemble the leaves of a nasturtium. A choice, collector's plant, it is hard to find and rarely available.

The taxonomic status of Stephania venosa is still unresolved.
