Tulipa linifolia, Flax Leaf Tulip, is a striking species tulip from Central Asia with bright scarlet red petals and a black centre which flex open like satiny red stars. The showy flowers appear quite late in the Tulip season from about the second or third week in April and continue to flower for a relatively long time, lasting through into May.
