Arisaema nepenthoides is a stunning hardy Arisaema that carries its inflorescence on a tall thin mottled stem. The spathes are brownish purple mottled with green and striped with distinctive white vertical lines. Held aloft on such tall stems they appear translucent when backlit by the sun and the open hood really does resemble that of a cobra although it gets its specific name from the tubular lower part of the spathe which resembles the genus Nepenthes, the tropical Pitcher Plant. It is usually the first of the Himalayan Arisaemas to flower in Spring, its stem growing rapidly in height to open up in early to mid-April.

A particularly interesting and rewarding Arisaema that offsets freely and is usually very reliable to flower. Recommended. Very limited quantities.
