Asarum splendens, Chinese Wild Ginger, is a choice and showy woodland plant with mottled splashes of metallic silver on its ovate-heart-shaped foliage. It is a vigourous ground-covering plant, reminiscent of Cyclamen hederifolium but more exotic and creates a striking green and silver carpet in a moist shady location. It has unusual and rather bizarre purplish flowers that are tucked away under the leaves in Spring. It is very difficult to grow a perfect specimen as the slugs love munching on the leaves.

Recommended. Limited quantities.
